We were saddened to hear of the passing of yet another local R&B, Blues icon this past Sunday.  Sadly Russell's passing most likely won't get the attention like those such as H Bomb Ferguson, Big Ed Thompson, Pigmeat Jarrett & the great Albert Washington.  But as bassist for Albert Washington, H-Bomb & many others, he helped hold it down at Cory's, The Vet's Inn & The Sha-Rah Lounge for a decades.

He also served in Howlin' Wolf's band in the 60's while he was living in Chicago.  Russell was one of the good guys  - he was a kind soul who did a helluva a job with a smile on his face.
